Own a piece of photographic history by capturing your own self-styled portrait.
Topshop is to showcase one of Helmut Newton’s most treasured pieces of photographic equipment. The ‘Newton Machine’ was first developed by Newton himself in the early 1970’s. Reflecting his sometimes humorous and irreverent approach to fashion, the machine allows the model to become subject, stylist and photographer simultaneously. The Machine’s original purpose was to capture the subject as they see themselves, which draws parallels to today’s obsession with engineering one’s self-image.

Staged in a bespoke photographic studio within the Oxford St flagship, Topshop will give its customers an exclusive chance to make fashion history by showing off their own look and style.

Experience The Helmut Newton Photo Machine at Topshop:

Oxford Circus 10 - 15 June
Manchester Arndale 17 - 22 June

The Helmut Newton Foundation in Berlin

Various aspects of Newton's multifaceted, innovative and provocative works are and have been shown in a series of exhibitions, which have since travelled.

The Helmut Newton Foundation, Berlin celebrates its 4th triumphant year with the upcoming exhibition 'Pigozzi and the Paparazzi'. For more information and pictures on this and past exhibitions please visit www.helmutnewton.com
