Bodrum's castle, built by the Knights Hospitallers in the 15th century, houses the fascinating Museum of Underwater Archaeology and the Ulubrun shipwreck, dating to the late Bronze Age. Due to a city ordinance, new developments are no higher then two stories, allowing Bodrum to keep some of the charm of a fishing village. It is also a good starting point for a visit to Letoon, the remains of an ancient religious centre.
